IRS Notice CP566 – Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), Information

A taxpayer is informed via IRS Notice CP566 that the IRS needs more information before processing their application for an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).

Why did I Receive IRS Notice CP566?

Because your ITIN application may have been incomplete or the wrong documents may have been supplied, you were issued notification CP566. Before it can proceed with your application, the IRS needs more details.

What You can do?

Examine your CP566 notice carefully. The information required to proceed with your ITIN application will be fully explained. From the date of the notice, you will have 45 days to submit the required documentation and the Answer Form that was also included in the notification.
