Let us go through how to accomplish that in detail. Upgrading QuickBooks, on the other hand, entails moving from a previous version, such as QuickBooks Desktop 2017, to a later version, such as QuickBooks Desktop 2020.

The user must first navigate to the File menu.

Then, either shut the business file or log out.

  1. Log in as an administrator to the software now.
  2. Select the QuickBooks desktop icon and right-click on it.
  3. Make a full backup of your company's files and put them in the root folder.
  4. The user must be on the No Company Open page.
  5. Now a window will open in which a code must be input. Enter the same character set as [K0w16].
  6. Now, under the Help Menu, pick 'Update QuickBooks.'
  7. Select the Mark All option from the options menu.
  8. The user must then save it and select 'Update Now.'
  9. Select 'Reset Update,' followed by the Get Updates button.
  10. QuickBooks Desktop must be closed once the update complete notification appears.
