How to Import Build Assemblies into QuickBooks

A Build Assembly in QuickBooks Desktop is a transaction that joins Inventory component items to create an Inventory Assembly Item, like the interior door kit in the example below.  You can import Build Assemblies in bulk straight into QuickBooks Desktop from Excel files by using Dancing Numbers.

Steps to Import Build Assemblies into QuickBooks

Please take these actions:

• Open your QuickBooks Company File and Connect Dancing Numbers.
• Click Start to Import and Select Build Assembly option.
• Click to select or Drag the Excel Sheet that needs to be Imported the Select the Worksheet from the Dropdown and Click Next and Ok.
• The File Preview Screen will show you the Data for the Excel Worksheet selected by you. If it is correct Click Next.
• On the Mapping Screen Select the Excel Column with the Relevant QuickBooks Fields and Click Next.
• File Updates Screen shows you Loading References to check if all the Inventory Assembly names are matching with QuickBooks or not and based on that it will show you the Missing references on the Next Screen.
• Click Import to Start Importing the Build Assembly in QuickBooks.
• Once Finished you can check the Build Assembly in QuickBooks by Clicking the small QB Icon on the Left side of the Imported Screen.
