How to Import and Export QuickBooks Data with MS Excel Files?

MS Excel is one of the main formats in which data is entered and you will often need to export or import the data in Excel format while using QuickBooks. Importing Excel Files

There are several options for importing the MS excel data to and from QuickBooks like the standard option, advanced option, and Add/edit multiple lists. In this article, we will look into the standard option for importing the excel files:

To Import Customers, Vendors, Products

Step 1. First of all, go to File > Utilities > Import > and then Excel Files.

Step 2. Now select the type of data > a formatted excel spreadsheet will be opened > enter your data > save the file and close it> click on add my data now option.

Step 3. Review and verify the result and click on close.

To Import Chart of Accounts

Step 1. Click on List > Chart of Accounts > Accounts > click on Import from Excel.

Step 2. Click on Browse > choose the excel file you wish to import and click on Open > now the select the destination Excel sheet where you want your data to get imported.

Step 3. Now Map your accounts and select import and Yes to confirm the process.

Exporting the Excel Files

Customer/ Vendor/ Payroll List Export

Step 1. Click on customer /vendor / payroll centre > choose excel drop-down and choose the information you want to export.

Step 2. Now in the export window, choose whether you want to create the new worksheet or update an existing one. And at last, click on the export button.

Items Export

Step 1. Click on List > item list > Excel drop-down > choose export all items.

Step 2. Now in the export window, choose whether you want to create the new worksheet or update an existing one and click on the export button.
