  • Basic, Standard: Payroll tax forms and accurate payroll tax calculations won’t be generated by QuickBooks Desktop 2021 automatically after May 31, 2024. Your subscription will be canceled and your paychecks might not add up to what they should.
  • Payment Service for Workers’ Compensation: QuickBooks Desktop 2021 will not be able to process Workers’ Compensation payments. The payment service can only be used with a working payroll subscription and a supported version of QuickBooks.

  • Accountant Copy Transfer Service: Using this service in QuickBooks Desktop will not allow you to send accountant copies.
  • Contributed Reports: This feature is not available in QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Multi-currency/Exchange Rate: You cannot use or activate this feature in QuickBooks Desktop to designate particular types of currency to your accounts and profiles.
  • Online Banking: Transactions cannot be downloaded, payments cannot be made online, and transfers cannot be made online. Your download method will determine the specific error message. For instance, you might get the message, “QuickBooks Desktop cannot confirm the Financial Institution Details for this Download.” (Note: Transaction uploading will also be stopped.)
  • Time for QuickBooks: QuickBooks 2021 will not support the use of Time for QuickBooks. Go to QuickBooks Online or use a web connector to synchronize your QuickBooks Time Data with QuickBooks.
